Amvets Ladies Auxiliary Humanitarian Award

On Saturday, March 20, 2010, the 56th Annual Amvets Silver Helmet Awards Banquet was held near Washington, D.C.

The Amvets Award has acquired a well-deserved reputation as the most prestigious of all awards given by veterans organizations and is known as the “Veterans Oscar.” The awards ceremony recognizes excellence and outstanding accomplishment in the fields of Americanism, defense, rehabilitation, congressional and civil service.

The Sons of Amvets and Ladies Auxiliary presented their awards at the banquet.

Camp Hope’s Founder, Mike White, received the Amvets Ladies Auxiliary Humanitarian Award. This is a tremendous honor and we are all very proud of him!! His presentation was a tough act to follow for the other winners.

Army Captain Joe Bogart

After an IED Explosion legally blinded me I knew my life would not be the same. I thought I would never be able to participate in the activities I enjoyed before fighting overseas. Then I spent a weekend at Camp Hope and now all that has changed. Thank you, Camp Hope!

Army Sgt Bobby Lisek

Thank you so much for this great opportunity, I have finally met someone that has been through the same stuff as me, it has been a blessing.

Army Sgt Jared Feldman

It means a lot for me to be here this weekend, this is incredible, I am really touched by what they are doing.
