National Military Groups Support Camp Hope’s Efforts

In the four years that Camp Hope has been providing free outdoor excursions for American Military Veterans wounded in the War on Terror, the grassroots nonprofit foundation has captured the attention of many groups and individuals who have become supporters.

The National AMVETS and the AMVETS Riders (hyperlink to each, open new windows) both have made Camp Hope their national charity of choice. Their fundraising campaigns have raised tens of thousands of dollars, which provided much of the seed money for the creation of the Central Lodge, which was completed in late 2011. (hyperlink to the facilities page) We are grateful for the financial support this group provides, but there is so much more to our relationship.

We are thankful for the countless volunteer hours provided by the men and women of the local chapters and posts. They donate their time and energy to clean up Camp Hope, cook meals for our guests, and provide support and encouragement to our Veterans.

In 2010, the AMVETS Ladies’ Auxiliary gave Camp Hope’s founder, William “Mike” White its prestigious Humanitarian of the Year Award.

Army Captain Joe Bogart

After an IED Explosion legally blinded me I knew my life would not be the same. I thought I would never be able to participate in the activities I enjoyed before fighting overseas. Then I spent a weekend at Camp Hope and now all that has changed. Thank you, Camp Hope!

Army Sgt Bobby Lisek

Thank you so much for this great opportunity, I have finally met someone that has been through the same stuff as me, it has been a blessing.

Army Sgt Jared Feldman

It means a lot for me to be here this weekend, this is incredible, I am really touched by what they are doing.
