At a ground breaking ceremony to be held at Camp Hope in Farmington on Wednesday, January 6, 2010, the Eastern Missouri Laborers’ District Council will present Camp Hope with a check for $30,000.00. This will mark the beginning of construction on the first cabin to be built for combat wounded veterans to come to Camp Hope to hunt, relax and enjoy the camaraderie of other soldiers who have found themselves in similar situations.
The Eastern Missouri Laborers’ District Council will have a delegation of approximately 30 individuals from their organization present at the ground breaking and there will be representatives from Camp Hope on hand as well.
Camp Hope was founded in 2007 by Gold Star Parents, William “Mike” White and his wife Galia, after they lost their son, Christopher N. White on June 20, 2006, in Al Anbar Province while protecting our freedom. The goal of Camp Hope is to allow our soldiers to again participate in outdoor adventures with dignity.
