Memorial Day

On Monday, Memorial Day events are happening all across the country. There will be parades, concerts, special sporting events, etc.

There are other less known events happening as well. Those are the reading of the names of the citizens of each state, county and township who gave their lives in defense of their nation and in defense of other nations and their people.

This is a time to reflect on those sacrifices and those who made them. Remember not only the soldier, sailor, airman and Marine who died, but also the families who bore that sacrifice of a loved one.

As you go about your Memorial Day please take a moment to remember. When you see a Veteran, Active Duty, Guardsman or Reservist, shake his/her hand and thank them for their service. When you see a Gold Star family, let them know that you are thinking of them and that their loved one is not and will not be forgotten.

May the Lord bless you and keep you this day and into the future.
